* Självregistreringen är öppen 210317-210329.
* Har du antagits till kursen med villkor kan du inte webbregistrera dig och måste kontakta kursledaren som avgör om du får registreras. Endast registrerade studenter får delta i undervisningen och ha tillgång till t.ex. Canvas.
* Du måste vara antagen och registrerad för att få gå på kursen. Student som saknar registrering får EJ vistas i lokalen, bl.a. av försäkringsskäl.

* Rättade tentor kan vanligtvis hämtas onsdagar kl 12.30 – 14.30 på Institutionen för Ekonomi i rum D416 och D417 i Ulls hus, vån 4. På grund av Covid så är det bäst att maila ekon-adm@slu.se för att få hjälp med att hämta ut en tentamen istället för att komma till kontoret då även vi arbetar på distans.

Objectives
The course intends to provide the students in the agronomist programme in business administration and economics knowledge of and an understanding of the agrarian sector with respect to the preconditions, functions and interaction with the surrounding society.
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
Describe at a general level biological and ecological preconditions for plant cultivation, and how these influence the plant cultivation at different locations and how different measures try to bridge geographical limitations.
Recognise important cultivated plants, tasks, needs for machinery and their possible environmental impact within plant cultivation.
Describe basic biological differences between different important production animals in the agriculture that influences what at a general level they are used to and which requirements are set on feeding and maintenance and ethical aspects on animal husbandry.
Describe important practices in the animal husbandry at a general level.
Describe at a general level the Swedish food industry and international actors and food labels.
Be familiar with industrial processes and hygienic aspects in the food industry at a general level and with the requirements that they set on agriculture.
Describe at a general level preconditions (social, cultural, economic) for rural development.
Describe at a general level aspects of the history of the rural area (the landscape, historical resources)
-know and describe the most important institutions in Sweden for rural and agricultural policy.

Grading form
The grade requirements within the course grading system are set out in specific criteria. These criteria must be available by the course start at the latest.Formats and requirements for examination
The aim of the course is examined through written examination and approved participation in compulsory components.
- If a student has failed an examination, the examiner has the right to issue supplementary assignments. This applies if it is possible and there are grounds to do so.
- The examiner can provide an adapted assessment to students entitled to study support for students with disabilities following a decision by the university. Examiners may also issue an adapted examination or provide an alternative way for the students to take the exam.
- If this syllabus is withdrawn, SLU may introduce transitional provisions for examining students admitted based on this syllabus and who have not yet passed the course.
- For the examination of a degree project (independent project), the examiner may also allow the student to add supplemental information after the deadline for submission. Read more in the Education Planning and Administration Handbook.
Other information
The right to participate in teaching and/or supervision only applies for the course instance the student was admitted to and registered on.
