Work Experience Course
Under de nio praktikveckorna skall du skicka in tre reflektioner/PM till din handledare vid SLU, ett efter varje avslutad tre veckors period. I dessa redogör och reflekterar du över utförda arbetsuppgifter och kopplar dina nya, praktiska erfarenheter till kunskap från utbildningen. Efter avslutad praktikperiod genomförs ett seminarium där alla studenterna som praktiserat under samma period, muntligt redovisar sin praktik. Under praktikperioden kommer du att få ett besök av din handledare från Alnarp. Vid detta besök ska du visa och berätta om dina arbetsuppgifter.

Courses equivalent to at least 45 credits from the Landscape Engineer Programme or the Horticultural Management Programme - Garden Design, Bachelor´s Programme.Objectives
For students to further develop their knowledge of the actual professional role, reflect on it and link it to their education.
On completion of the course, students will:
Be able to explain the operations and the aim of the activities that are carried out at their placement workplace
Be able to identify and explain the role of the landscape construction engineer/horticulture management engineer at the work experience place
Have improved their skills in making short oral presentations.
Content
The student seeks out a relevant work experience place. The student is also responsible for making contact with a supervisor at the workplace. The work experience place and the supervisor must be approved by the course leader at least two weeks before the course starts.
Nine weeks of work experience placement during which the student will in principle follow the working procedures of the workplace.
Oral and written reflection on the work experience in the form of written notes and an oral presentation.
Planning and execution of a study visit to the workplace by the tutor who is the contact person.
Grading form
The grade requirements within the course grading system are set out in specific criteria. These criteria must be available by the course start at the latest.Formats and requirements for examination
Approved oral presentation. Participation in seminars. Approved written task. Attendance at work placement.
If a student has failed an examination, the examiner has the right to issue supplementary assignments. This applies if it is possible and there are grounds to do so.
The examiner can provide an adapted assessment to students entitled to study support for students with disabilities following a decision by the university. Examiners may also issue an adapted examination or provide an alternative way for the students to take the exam.
If this syllabus is withdrawn, SLU may introduce transitional provisions for examining students admitted based on this syllabus and who have not yet passed the course.
For the assessment of an independent project (degree project), the examiner may also allow a student to add supplemental information after the deadline for submission. Read more in the Education Planning and Administration Handbook.
Other information
The right to participate in teaching and/or supervision only applies for the course instance the student was admitted to and registered on.
If there are special reasons, students are entitled to participate in components with compulsory attendance when the course is given again. Read more in the Education Planning and Administration Handbook.
Additional information
At SLU, each student will be allocated a contact person who will visit the student at their workplace.The course is also provided during the summer.
