All litteratur i kursen kommer att tenteras tillsammans med annan utdelat material under kursen samt det som diskuteras på föreläsningar. Det finns två obligatoriska böcker som ingår i kursen och de är:

ObjectivesThe purpose of the course is to develope students ability to describe, analyse and propose solutions within the problem complex plant selection, planting site, function and management for urban green structures and the peri-urban landscape.
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
- analyse and suggest plants for an environment from a planting site, function and management perspective
- describe the microclimate at a planting site and link it to important plant physiological factors
- plan and design a planting proposal in an urban environment with regard to function and maintenance
- identify deficiencies regarding plant, soil or environmental factors at a planting site and propose solutions
- produce a presentation material using digital visualisation techniques and suited to a target group
- understand their professional role in relation to that of professional groups as regards problems and solutions associated with planting sites.
Content- Students’ understanding of plant technology issues will be developed and enhanced through lectures.
- Visits and exercises in environments such as public spaces, residential areas, churchyards and roadside environments will be used to apply and deepen knowledge of planting sites from an economic, ecological and aesthetic perspective.
- In a practical exercise, training will be provided in plant selection from concept to final proposal.
- IT-supported presentation techniques will be practised in an assignment.
Compulsory components: study trips, exercises and project work.

- If the student fails a test, the examiner may give the student a supplementary assignment, provided this is possible and there is reason to do so.
- If the student has been granted special educational support because of a disability, the examiner has the right to offer the student an adapted test, or provide an alternative assessment.
- If changes are made to this course syllabus, or if the course is closed, SLU shall decide on transitional rules for examination of students admitted under this syllabus but who have not yet passed the course.
- For the examination of a degree project (independent project), the examiner may also allow the student to add supplemental information after the deadline. For more information on this, please refer to the regulations for education at Bachelor's and Master's level.
