A large part of the course will involve group discussions where each student will get training in writing her/his own manuscript. Thus there is a need that the students participating in the course already have enough data for writing a manuscript. Please check with your supervisor. Course leaders and students are reviewing each other’s manuscripts.

The overall objective of the course is to learn how to write and publish a scientific manuscript. Critical reading and discussions of mauscripts are included. On completion of the course, students should have a critical understanding of what it means to write and publish scientific manuscripts.

Formats and requirements for examination
Active participation in at least 80% of the lectures and discussion. A first draft of a full manuscript should be ready.
Additional information
Course start week 43 and end week 9 and involves six whole-day meetings at a regular bases. Between meetings students write their texts and comment on the texts of the other participants. The course meetings will be planned so that it is possible to take the other PhD courses in Alnarp during this time period.Number of participants: 6-20 students. Groups will be formed related to type of subject for the writing (e.g. divided into Natural-Technological Science/Social Science.). Please provide a few sentences about your PhD project and your planned manuscript when you register for the course.
