Marketing and Organization
This course covers and discusses how different companies and organsizations working with forest resources can use marketing and organizational principles from an ethical and sustainable perspective.
The marketing section begins with an theoretical background to the subject. Focus is given to relational marketing and how it affects value creation and customer benefit. The course analyzes and discusses ethical aspects of sustainable marketing in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The organizational content of the course focuses on cooperation between people and how the group’s dynamics and leadership can affect this collaboration.
Studens are expected to acquire basic knowledge through self-study of the literature and to apply the knowledge at oral discussions in seminars, case studies and in a project. Through external lectures, students will be given the opportunity to discuss applications in the forest industry. Mandatory exercises in the course include active participation in oral discussions in seminars, external lectures and workshops where case studies and or student projects will be presented. The students practice to give feed back on other student´s reports.

Hej alla!
Tack för mail och engagemang i frågor gällande förutsättningar för att göra kursen så bra vi bara kan, givet förutsättningar som vi inte kan styra över. Vi har fått många mail med frågor om vi skall ge kursen i klassrum eller i zoom. Våra svar har varit lite vaga, för att vi vill följa direktiv som vi får från SLU centralt. Nu har vi pratat ihop oss och enats om att vi i möjligaste mån genomför föreläsningar i kursen i zoom - men inte alla tillfällen. I slutet på kursen 11/2 + 14/2 och 15/2 har vi moment i kursen som genomförs i klassrummet (Sälgen) - som det ser ut nu. Vi planerar för det och hoppas att vi alla kan hjälpas åt att göra kursen så bra vi bara kan (aktiva föreläsningar, övningar, diskussioner och presentationer - med kameran på). Vi jobbar för närvarande med att göra en så tydlig Canvassida som vi kan för det blir väldigt viktigt när mer av kursen görs digitalt.
För att förbereda kursen är det bra om Ni självregistrerar Er på kursen, tackar ja till Canvasinbjudan, och ser till att Ni har tillgång till kurslitteraturen (tidigare års studenter kanske har en bok de kan låna ut/ sälja) - samt det av tekniska förutsättningar som krävs för att vi skall kunna se varandra och prata i zoom.
Ett slutgiltigt schema med läsinstruktioner, betygskriterier, handouts och mycket mer kommer att vara tillgängligt i Canvas vid kursstart. Vi möts i Zoom måndagen den 17 januari 2022 kl. 09. Varmt välkomna!

Välkommen till kursen Marknadsföring och organisation, SG0249!
För den här kursen använder vi lärplattformen Canvas. När du har registrerat dig på kursen kommer du att få en inbjudan till kurshemsidan i Canvas via studentmejlen. Du behöver tacka ja till inbjudan för att komma åt Canvassidan. Det är där du kommer att hitta allt du behöver för kursen, som t.ex. schema, instruktioner för övningar, lista över deltagare och meddelanden från lärare.

Plats i klassrummet Sälgen, som blir vårt ”hemklassrum” . Detta är en campusbunden kurs men en del av undervisningen kommer att ges i Zoom och om Covid 19-läget så kräver får vi erbjuda hela kursen som en distanskurs. Det beslutet fattas SLU centralt baserat på vad Regeringen rekommenderar.
Ett uppdaterat preliminärt schema för kursen kommer att publiceras på den här sidan senast 4 veckor före kursstart (och vid kursstarten får Du ett slutligt schema). Information om kurslitteraturlista finns redan på hemsidan.

Inför kursstarten, registrera Dig digitalt och glöm inte att tacka ja till erbjuden plats på kursen. Kursen ger Dig en grund i två stora företagsekonomiska ämnen, marknadsföring och organisationslära, något vi tror att Du har nytta och glädje av oavsett Dina val i fortsatta studier och arbete.
Det är bra om Du har laddat ned marknadsföringsboken (digitalt tillgänglig) och köpt organisationsteoriboken inför kursstarten. Biblioteket har ett par exemplar, men inte en hel kursuppsättning. Det kan hända att någon student från förra året kan vara villig att låna ut eller sälja sin kursbok.

Objectives
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and skills in analyzing and discussing different marketing and organization concepts used by companies and other organizations involved in forest management.
After completion of the course the student should be able to:
Explain the functioning of marketing in companies and in the social economy, including ethical aspects.
Use concepts and models as a basis for making a market analysis and a marketing plan
Apply models and methods to issues in marketing for sustainable development.
Describe and analyze how to organize human resources.
Describe and analyze how the dynamics of the group, the structure and leadership of the organization are related to each other.
Apply basics in scientific writing.

Grading form
The grade requirements within the course grading system are set out in specific criteria. These criteria must be available by the course start at the latest.Formats and requirements for examination
Approved written exam, approved written assignments, approved oral presentations, excercises and active participation in seminars and lectures.
If a student has failed an examination, the examiner has the right to issue supplementary assignments. This applies if it is possible and there are grounds to do so.
The examiner can provide an adapted assessment to students entitled to study support for students with disabilities following a decision by the university. Examiners may also issue an adapted examination or provide an alternative way for the students to take the exam.
If this syllabus is withdrawn, SLU may introduce transitional provisions for examining students admitted based on this syllabus and who have not yet passed the course.
