English language requirements

Last changed: 22 January 2019

In order to be admitted to doctoral studies at SLU, you must be able to show proof of English language skills. The English language entry requirement is the equivalent of English studies at upper secondary (high school) in Sweden, called English Course B/English 6.

Applicants who do not have a school-leaving certificate from a Swedish upper secondary school must have an internationally approved language test certificate (TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge ESOL) in accordance with the requirements at www.universityadmissions.se. Exemptions from certificate requirements can be found at www.universityadmissions.se.

All TOEFL tests must be sent directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to SLU. The institution code of SLU is 1185.
