seminars, workshops |
View over roof tops in a poor area in South Africa.

Welcome to a webinar that wants to highlight research on sustainable urban development in the global south. The webinar is open to all interested parties (who have registered), but is primarily aimed at researchers at SLU. SLU Urban Futures and SLU Globals will present a new collaborative project and showcase some ongoing research projects at SLU that connects to urban themes.

Researchers will share perspectives on conducting research in countries in the global south, as well as how their research interacts with the Sustainable Development Goals and urban issues. The highlighted projects will be a springboard into discussions on how SLU can strengthen research capacity on urban sustainability themes. The discussions will leverage SDG11 and reflect upon how the SDGs interconnected around urban themes.

The seminar will be part of an ongoing series running into 2021, providing an opportunity to engage with researchers involved in urban research in the global south and expand networks to improve this research capacity.
