Do you work with FOOD or CITY – or both? Maybe your research is more specifically related to food production, but can contribute to urban development, or vice versa? Then we would like to invite you to an interdisciplinary research seminar in Ultuna on February 25, 10-12 followed by a networking lunch.

10:00   Welcome

Presentations:

  • Vertical and indoor farming systems. Keynote by Most Tahera Naznin, assistant Professor and visiting guest speaker from Department of Biosystems and Technology, SLU campus Alnarp.
    Aquaponics. Guest presentation by Björn Oliviusson, operator of an aquaponic system in Haninge, Stockholm.
  • Feminist perspectives on urban agriculture. TBC
  •  Why Food and City? Justification and inspiration for collaboration. Daniel Bergquist, SLU, coordinator Food and Cities
  • Joint discussion

12:00    Lunch in the Ultuna restaurant (Syltan)

The seminar is organized as a mini-symposium, and brings together different perspectives and people from SLU and beyond, to learn from each other and explore potential collaborations. If you would like to present your own work, please let us know as soon as possible, there is still room for additional short presentations.

This event is organized by the project Food and Cities (Mat och stad), a joint initiative between SLU’s future platforms SLU Future Food and SLU Urban Futures.
