Generation Equality: Adolescents, Gender equality and SRHR

The seminar will focus on adolescents’ universal access to SRHR, a key recommendation from the recent global summit celebrating the 25th anniversary of the international Conference on Population and Development, held in Nairobi in 2019. The recently launched Journal of Adolescent Health Special Supplement on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR) will be presented. 

2020 is a global super-year for gender equality due to the 25-year commemoration of the landmark Beijing Declaration and Platform Action for gender equality and women’s rights. Sida supports the global Generation Equality campaign for gender equality in 2020, and will host a series of events this year that presents innovative and new findings while reviewing progress and challenges. This is the first event in this series.

The seminar will be opened by Sida’s Deputy Director General Cecilia Scharp. A full programme will follow shortly.
