Summary:
This thesis studies in depth the zoonotic disease brucellosis in two of the poorest states of India, Assam and Bihar. The thesis describes the prevalence in dairy cattle, the risk factors and the most important symptoms associated with the disease. In addition, the thesis describes the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the dairy farmers, and also the costs associated with reproductive disease in the states. The findings of the study will help guide future control programs.
