One issue of SLU:s popular science publication Fakta Skog is now available in English:

Sustainable rural development: The need for integrative knowledge production and learning

Rural areas face significant challenges regarding economic development, creating job opportunities and maintaining ecological, social and cultural assets. In Sweden, rural development focuses on sustainable management and governance of natural resources in order to achieve balanced territorial development of rural economies and communities towards viable living rural areas. Swedish policies toward sustainable rural development can be implemented by generating evidence-based knowledge through collaboration with relevant local, regional, national and international stakeholders. The vision is to consolidate an international hub for sustainable rural development.
