Call: Development of Research Laboratory in Food Engineering/Food Security

Published: 03 January 2017

The Faculty of Engineering at Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) has identified Food Security/Safety and Bioengineering as strategic areas for starting a pilot collaboration with Swedish universities.

Sida is in the process of initiating research collaboration with the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), Cambodia during 2018. In preliminary discussions with the University management, besides other areas (ICT, Science and Library), the Faculty of Engineering at RUPP has identified Food Security/Safety and Bioengineering as strategic areas for starting a pilot collaboration with Swedish universities.

A preliminary zero draft of the concept note from RUPP on "Development of a Research Laboratory in Food Engineering/Food Security" is available here.

RUPP and Sida have agreed that a delegation comprising 4 researchers from RUPP visit Sweden early in 2017 to discuss their ideas with relevant institutions and find common grounds for a possible future collaboration. The International Science Programme (ISP) at Uppsala University will coordinate the visit.

Tentative scientific partners at Swedish universities interested in this collaboration can contact Olle Terenius at ISP, so that their university can be included in the visit schedule coordinated by ISP.

Please note that this is not the initiation of a bilateral research program as per a standard Sida "Research Training Partnership Program (RTPP)"; this will come later.

Last date for expression of interest is 31 January 2017.
