Delegation from Cambodia visited SLU

A delegation from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), Cambodia, visited SLU as part of their weeklong stay in Sweden for discussions concerning a pilot bilateral collaboration in the areas of food safety and food security where SLU could be a tentative partner.

During the week, the delegation from the Faculty of Engineering at RUPP visited SLU Alnarp, SLU Uppsala, some other Swedish Universities and Sida. The delegation consisted of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Head of the Department of Bio-Engineering and two researchers as well as a representative from Sida. 

At SLU Alnarp the visitors met SLU's new Pro Vice-Chancellor for International relations, Ylva Hillbur, as well as with SLU researchers. The group also had a tour of the biotrone - a facility with climatized rooms for modern plant research .

During the visit to SLU Uppsala, that was hosted by SLU Global, the group met with several SLU researcher and got the opportunity to listen to presentations in the area of food safety and food security. They also visited some of the laboratories at the Department of Biomedical Science and Veterinary Public Health; Division of Bacteriology and Food Safety.
