Published: 14 March 2018

Jennie Barron is a new Professor of agriculture water management at the Department of Soil and Environment at SLU. With her research she wants to contribute to more resilient and climate-friendly water management in cultivated landscapes.

Jennie Barron's research is about water management in agriculture. She is particularly interested in developing and transforming agricultural landscapes and ecosystems, water and land use and capacity building, both in Sweden and internationally.

In her research, she uses both empirical practices and data modeling, often in collaboration with other research disciplines as well as with farmers and decision makers. She has extensive collaborations with international organizations.

– With my research, I want to contribute to more resilient and climate-friendly water management in cultivated landscapes. If agriculture manages water more efficiently and sustainably, more people can access clean water, says Jennie.
