High concentrations of diclofenac in River Fyrisån

The Swedish Radio P4 Uppland has interviewed Lutz Ahrens, from the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment, about pollutants in River Fyrisån.

Diclofenac is a pain killing drug which is dangerous for aquatic organisms. Lutz Ahrens, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment, has for many years studied pharmaceuticals and other organic pollutants in Sweden. P4 Uppland has interviewed him regarding new data from the Swedish EPA pointing out the Rivers Fyrisån and Lövstaån in Uppland as espcilally polluted by diclofenac.
