The digital Agri4D 2021 conference is now open to call for abstracts. This year, the focus is on how we can shape sustainable and just food systems that are resilient to new realities. You can submit your contributions until 14 May 2021.
Every two years, SLU Global and the Swedish International Agriculture Network Initiative (SIANI) bring together researchers and practitioners dedicated to agriculture for development in the Agri4D conference. The main focus this year is on how we can address the urgent challenges posed by the pandemic, climate change, and other global crises that rapidly change our societies.
The conference takes place 28-30 September. During the three days, six topics related to the main theme will be discussed. If your work relates to any of these topics, please submit your abstract before 14 May to have a chance of presenting your work.
Topic 1: Justice in Food Governance calls for work on social and environmental justice in food systems with special attention to questions of gender, social marginalisation and intersectionality.
Topic 2: Towards Improved Food and Nutrition Security from Smallholder-inclusive Food Systems looks closer at the roles of smallholders, producers and consumers within inclusive food systems.
Topic 3: Agroecology focuses on economic, environmental and social sustainability, resource use, ecological interactions, and interactions between different actors in the food system.
Topic 4: Closing the Loop – Making Food Systems Circular focuses on waste reduction, management and utilisation, including drivers for change from linear to circular systems.
Topic 5: Innovation and Innovative Approaches focuses on how technical, social and organisational innovations can enable development towards Agenda 2030.
Topic 6: Build Resilience to Vulnerabilities, Shocks and Stress focuses on making food systems more resilient and better prepared for future shocks and stressors.
