Plant health and biocontrol in focus at Älvkarleby

During the course that took place between the 9-13 May 2022, the invited international teachers Jürgen Köhl from the Netherlands and Tomislav Cernava from Austria talked.

– It was a wonderful week with new knowledge and perspectives on the role of microorganisms in the biological control of plant diseases, says Dan Funck Jensen, one of the course leaders.

– We made a study visit to Nässja plant nursery in Österfärnebo, where we learned more about production and protection of forest plants. It was an intense but educational week with active participants, says Magnus Karlsson, another course leader.

The course was arranged in the NOVA Network. NOVA is a university cooperation aimed at supporting the understanding of major global challenges in a Nordic context. They arrange PhD-level courses in subjects related to agricultural, forestry and veterinary sciencesIn addition, the courses help building international scientific networks.
