Workshop series on Modern Plant Breeding continues

Published: 22 September 2022

During the fall of 2022, SLU Grogrund is arranging three digital workshops on modern methods in plant breeding. They are open to doctoral students, postdocs and researchers as well as professionals. Similar workshops were carried out in autumn 2021 with good results and many participants from both academia and industry. Therefore, there will now be a continuation.

Workshops in the series Methods in Modern Plant Breeding have the following themes:

The main teachers are associate professors Larisa Gustavsson, Aakash Chawade and Ramune Kuktaite from the Department of Plant Breeding.

Target groups are PhD students, postdoctors, researchers and professionals in organizations related to SLU Grogrund. You can participate in one, two or all workshops according to your interest. PhD students can get 1.5 credit points after participating in all three and writing a short report.

Registration for the entire workshop series must be made no later than 7 October 2022 to SLU Grogrund's education coordinator salla.marttila@slu.se. For participation in individual workshops only, click on the links above for more information.

Workshops are digital and given in English. There is no fee.

The workshop series supports SLU Grogrund’s aim to join forces from academia and business sector to develop competence in long term, in order to secure access to crop plant varieties for a sustainable and competitive agricultural and horticultural production throughout Sweden.
