Gain knowledge in intellectual property at SLU!

Published: 05 January 2023

Knowledge in intellectual property (IP) management and gaining the skills to draft patents are often essential for a successful career. Therefore, the Focus on Food and Biomaterials research school organized an IP workshop entitled “Practical patent (and IP) considerations and activities for a researcher”.

Knowledge in intellectual property (IP) management and gaining the skills to draft patents  are often essential for a successful career. On the 6th of December, we invited Gerald Pettersson and Henrik Landgren from SLU Holding AB (link to https://www.sluholding.se/) to lead the workshop “Practical patent (and IP) considerations and activities for a researcher”. PhD students and young researchers had the opportunity to learn about IP vs commercialization, inventorship vs ownership, and patentability criteria. They even worked on a case study. Finally we were informed about SLU Holding AB and how they can support researchers with IP matters and submitting patents.

We thank you participants and leaders of the workshop and hope for future collaborations! We also thank Annica Andersson (link to Annica’s CV https://www.slu.se/en/ew-cv/annica-andersson/) from the Department of Molecular Sciences for organizing this unique activity for FFB!
