"Being part of GCUA 2030 over the past three years has spurred our institution onwards in pursuit of deeper engagement with the SDGs."

Published: 25 January 2023

To strengthen our network and share the great outcomes from GCUA 2030, we will give you a qoute from one of the member universities each month, this time from Tom Gill, University of Tennessee, about the positive effect GCUA 2030 have had on his university.

“Being part of GCUA 2030 over the past three years has spurred our institution onwards in pursuit of deeper engagement with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Our GCUA 2030 involvement has led to the appointment of an SDG faculty fellow, and course mapping of all University of Tennessee Knoxville courses against the SDGs. This has led to a campus culture that is more attuned to the SDG framework and an institution that is rising in the global SDG impact rankings of world universities.

But most importantly, GCUA 2030 has opened our university to a network of like-minded institutions and advocates who are using the vehicle of higher education to pursue the SDGs.”
