Education at Bachelor's and Master's level

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science offers education with focus on animals.

Education takes place mainly in Uppsala but also in Flyinge, Strömsholm and Wången.

The faculty offers Bachelor's and Master's programmes, vocational programmes and separate courses. Several of the programmes listed below are among the most popular in Sweden, in terms of number of applicants per offered place.

Bachelor's programmes (180 credits, three years of studies at first-cycle level)
Programmes are taught in Swedish.

  • Ethology and Animal Welfare (Location: Uppsala)
  • Equine Science, three specialisations (Locations: Flyinge, Strömsholm och Wången)
  • Companion and sports animals (Location: Uppsala)

Master's programmes (120 credits, two years of studies at second-cycle level)
Programmes are taught in English.

Vocational programmes
Programmes are taught in Swedish.

  • Agriculture programme - Animal Science, 300 credits (Location: Uppsala)
  • Veterinary Medicine programme, 330 credits (Location: Uppsala)
  • Veterinary Nursing prgramme, 180 credits (Location: Uppsala)

Courses

Supplementary education
Education is taught in Swedish.

The Veterinary Medicine programme was evaluated in 2017 and 2018 by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE).

The evaluation resulted in a Self Evaluation Report and a Final Report.
