PhD-course and workshop 'Constraints on decomposition'

Literature seminars 25 March- 15 April, workshop 19-23 April 2010. The aim of the course is to give participants a better understanding of decomposition process in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems from different approaches: • Chemical structure of organic matter • Structures and functions of decomposer enzymes • Decomposer organisms • Ecosystem processes and models We will highlight consistencies and conflicts between different approaches, aiming to achieve a more holistic and nuanced understanding of decomposition processes.
