PhD-course 'Soil Organic Matter Modeling'

There is an increasing interest in Soil Organic Matter (SOM) models due to the large uncertainties in soil C storages. These uncertainties concern carbon balances both at national and global scales and are important for assessment studies of climate change. The aims of the PhD-course are that participants i) are introduced to and discuss different conceptual models of soil organic matter dynamics, ii) gain insight in which kind of model complexity is suitable for a certain research question and iii) are provided hands-on trainings with the models Q, Yasso07, and CoupModel.
