NOVA University Network - NOVA is a university cooperation aimed at supporting the understanding of major global challenges in a Nordic context. NOVA provides high quality PhD-level courses in subjects related to agricultural, forestry and veterinary sciences, and supports PhD- and post-graduate veterinarian specialisation students and NOVA’s scientists in building international scientific networks.

Centre for Statistics at SLU. The Centre for Statistics is a joint platform for statisticians at SLU to enable exchange of knowledge and to be a resource for the entire university by organizing workshops and providing statistical advice and support for all employees at SLU.

Euro league for Life Sciences

The Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) is a network of leading universities cooperating in the fields of Natural Resource Management, Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Life Sciences, Animal Sciences, Food Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Rural Development, incl. Agricultural Economics or Rural Sociology.

The objectives of ELLS are:

  • to offer students additional values by expanding existing activities and by developing new joint programmes in the field of Life Sciences
  • to support the high quality of education by the sharing of expertise and facilities
  • to provide transparent and easily accessible information about joint ELLS study programmes
  • to increase student mobility by simplifying the process of student exchange

LivsID - LivsID is an industry PhD-program, dedicated to research and education within food-related topics. The program involves nine companies and seven departments at SLU.

Umeå University

Arctic graduate school with a focus on Sustianable development

The Arctic Graduate School is located within the umbrella of Arcum and has sustainable development as a focus, in addition to the Arctic perspective.

The first cohort of doctoral students commenced their training in the autumn of 2022. During the spring semester, ten doctoral positions in different areas are being advertised.

National Research School in General practise. 

The National Research School in General Practice is intended to provide doctoral students in general practice with opportunities and experiences that are not normally offered by third-cycle studies. The hope is that the research school will stimulate creativity and sustainable environments in which to conduct research in primary healthcare and encourage multidisciplinary research.

Lund University

ClimbEcoThe ClimBEco Graduate Research School offers a number of PhD courses and workshops each year. Some are in-depth disciplinary while others are interdisciplinary.

BIOECONOMY Graduate Research School - is a transdisciplinary graduate research school at Lund University with an overall aim of developing the competencies necessary for participants to:

  • adopt systems approach in order to identify and assess the full range of technological, economic, social and ecological challenges and opportunities in transition to a circular bioeconomy;
  • lead the way in innovative inter/trans-disciplinary research and education for a sustainable bioeconomy in the international arena.

Agenda 2030 Graduate School -  The Agenda 2030 Graduate School provides interdisciplinary PhD courses based on the societal challenges related to the Sustainable Development Goals.

The courses are open to all PhD students at Lund University and free of charge. Admission priority will be given to the PhD students within the Agenda 2030 graduate school. There is a possibility for PhD students from other universities and master students to participate in courses - please contact the course coordinator of the specific course for further information. 

AquaClim- Water Research School

The Water Research School was formed to provide research education in water at a high international quality. We offer courses to PhD students and industry. We form a community of PhD students, their supervisors, and collaborators in the water industry in Sweden. We do this through our courses, and in our networking activities and a mentor programme.

Luleå University of Technology

Graduate school - PhDstudents from all over Luleå University of Technology participate in Creaternity's graduate school because it is important to create a holistic view in order to be able to tackle the sustainability challenges. The graduate school includes courses and other activities to provide PhD students with knowledge and tools to be able to determine how the earth's resources are used in the best way.

Stockholm University 

The Climate Research School is a research school that spans over several departments and research areas within Stockholm University and the aim is to establish a common platform for climate research.

In short, the CRS organizes, coordinates and administrates interdisciplinary climate related courses for PhD students and organize activities and events that promote networking between PhD students within the Bolin Centre.

CRS also give financial support allowing PhD-students to participate in conferences, field courses and workshops. Members of the CRS will also have the opportunity to enter the popular Bolin Centre Mentoring System.

To strenghten the climate research CRS is collaborating with ClimBEco at Centre for  Environmental and Climate Science (CEC) at Lund University. This widens the possibility to participate in courses and workshops - see ClimBEco

BioResearch School - The Stockholm University BioResearch School organizes PhD-courses for students at any of the Biology departments at SU no matter their subject area. Hence, all courses are open for all students unless otherwise stated. In addition to subject-related courses, the BioResearch School organizes introductory course, obligatory for all PhD-students in Biology and a requirement for those expected to participate in teaching, as well as other general  interest courses and special events, such as workshops and the annual PhD-day. Many of these activities provide ample opportunities for trans-disciplinary interactions and networking with students working on a broad range of problems.

Uppsala University 

The Biology PhD School is open to all biology students at Uppsala University. That includes students in all three biology departments (ICM, IEG, IOB), as well as students from other departments within the Faculty of Science and Technology who feel that they would benefit from increased interactions with biologists.

Our main goals are to:

  • Connect and Inspire: Foster a connected community of PhD students across biology

We will organise a PhD Symposium (early February 2023) for PhD students to increase the interactions between departments and buildings (BMC and EBC).

  • Contribute to Interdisciplinary Training: Facilitate key learning opportunities across biological disciplines
