Thesis title: Natural regeneration and management of birch.
My research focused on the site factors affecting establishment of naturally regenerated birch. An example could be: is it “necessary” to do soil scarification in order to get a generous regeneration? I also looked at the dispersal of birch over Sweden and how to manage birch in mixtures and monocultures to meet the different goals of different forest owners.
