Our research is about how we can select from thousands of possible microbes, to isolate promising candidates for a more detailed evaluation. The microbes are mainly intended to be used in fish feed as microbes are a natural part of diet for fish at certain life stages.

Microbes are nature's fastest producers of protein and fat and can form these substances and also vitamins from a variety of substrates, including various types of waste streams that could otherwise end up as problems in our oceans. In the current project we have grown microbes in so-called vinasse, a by-product of bioethanol production.
