The molecular laboratory of the Ecology Centre

Last changed: 20 April 2017

A molecular laboratory adapted to DNA/RNA extractions etc.

All equipment needed to perform genetic analyzes such as sequencing, fragment analyses, quantification of DNA and RNA, Real-time PCR etc can be found in the laboratory. There are also good opportunities for making media for culturing eg. Bacteria.

Firstly, the facility aim to provide employees at the Ecology centre with a
modern molecular laboratory close to their offices and secondly other
researchers and students.

The laboratory is also used for diagnosing diseases found in honeybees. In
2014, SLU was appointed national reference laboratory (NRL) by the government and now parts of the laboratory is accredited.
