Library service for distance students

As a distance student you are entitled to the same service and access to the same resources as other SLU students.
Loans
As a registered SLU student you automatically have a library account.
Using our search tool Primo, which covers all the library's printed and digital resources, you can place a loan request from any of the SLU libraries. You log in using your SLU account credentials.
As a distance student you can have the loans sent to your home address. Then you pay the return postage fee. You can also request a loan through your local library where you pick up and return your loan without any postage fee
Articles and loans from other libraries
When the article you need is not available online you can request a copy through Libris or using the empty form in our search tool Primo. If you cannot come to the library to pick up the article in person, you can have it sent to your home address for a fee. See our price list below.
When the literature you need for your studies or research is not available within the SLU University Library you can request an interlibrary loan from another library and have the book sent to your home address. You make your request through Libris or using the empty form in our search tool Primo.
Please note that it can be both quicker and cheaper to order an interlibrary loan through your local library.
Off-campus access to online resources
As a SLU student you have access to all our online resources like databases, e-books and e-journals from home using the University VPN service.
Chat with us or book a librarian
If you need help with searching or want to know more about our services you are always welcome with your questions and comments. You can use our chat or book a librarian . When you book a librarian, we can meet you on campus or through web applications like Skype or Google Hangouts. We are also happy to arrange courses for distance students based on your specific needs.
