A ‘think/do tank’ is an overarching concept for some of the activities in Mistra Environmental Communication which bring research and practice more closely together, enabling us to overcome barriers between thinking and doing. A think/do tank creates a space where issues of relevance for societal partners connected to the programme are discussed and developed in a way that is useful for the participating partners and society in general.

In collaboration with other Mistra EC programme partners, Moderna Museet (the museum of modern art in Stockholm) is planning a symposium for museum professionals in Sweden. Its aim is to explore the roles that museums can or should play in the process of societal transition towards the UN global goals for a sustainable future. This will be organised as a think/do tank, combining discussions and interventions by museum professionals and interested partners in the Mistra Environmental Communication programme.

We’re planning to hold the symposium in early 2021 to reduce uncertainties due to the Covid19 situation. Mistra Environmental Communication is contributing to the budget primarily to cover the costs of external speakers. More info will be shared in due course, but you are also welcome to contact Ylva Hillström at Y.Hillstrom@modernamuseet.se  with your suggestions or questions!

Meanwhile, our planning for other think/do tanks continues - do contact the think/do tank coordinator Hanna Bergeå to discuss your ideas!
