On June 16th-17th, Mistra Environmental Communication held its second big meeting – this time entirely online – inviting its programme partners which represent a wide range of actors in environmental communication.

Participants based in nine countries – from New Zealand to the USA – joined for a programme that included 16 different sessions. These addressed a wide range of environmental communication arenas, such as sustainability consumption campaigns, knowledge co-production in sustainable farming, and environmental arts.

A synthesis session invited all participants to share experiences and lessons learned from the governance of the Covid19 pandemic for sustainability governance, and was framed by the opening statements of Lotten Lundgren, Lantbrukarnas riksförbund, and Karin Lexén, Naturskyddsföreningen.

– We are very glad that we managed to get such a rich and diverse programme together and made great progress in our work, even though we had to meet exclusively online this time, says Anke Fischer, one of the programme directors, based at SLU.

– We are grateful to all participants for invaluable contributions and active participation in the sessions, says the other program director Eva Friman. Co-creation among partners is at the very heart of our program!
