Agroecology Day 2014

Publicerad: 04 april 2014

On April 11th 2014, we will hold the third Agroecology Day on the campus of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Alnarp, southern Sweden. The main aim of this day is to increase attention for Agroecology as both a scientific and practical discipline for developing sustainable food production systems.

Bringing together a diverse group of speakers spanning all aspects of the food system, including scientists, farmers and food activists, the forum will be focused on ideas for improvement and generating discussion about feasible alternatives for the future.

We will welcome you at 9:30 in the Crafoordsalen to register and have a coffee. At 10:00, Professor Charles Francis will kick off the day with an introduction to Agroecology. There will be fika, and a delicious Indian vegetarian lunch will be served. We will finish the day with a Panel Discussion.

Inspiring speakers will share their work and ideas with you:

Charles Francis (Nebraska- Lincoln University/ NMBU University, Norway),
Kristina Belfrage (Soil and Environment, SLU and Organic Farmer),
Søren Ejlersen (Aarstiderne and HAVER TIL MAVER),
Leonardo van den Berg (ILEIA and Farming Matters Magazine),
Bengt Sommarin and Johan Lemte (Föreningen Sesam).

The Swedish Folk band La Orquestra Sostenible will play some nice tunes during the breaks.
