Concept Board: task before course start
Since the CDF course will have all its activities online, we have decided to include and test an online-based facilitation software called Concept Board. We will provide details on how we will use concept board during the course later on, but for now we will like you to get familiar with the program. We would like you to do the following:
1. Watch these short tutorial videos to get familiar with the main features of concept board.

2. Enter the Test Concept board in the link below. Do it as a guest. No need to sign in. Follow the instructions in the two boards.

This course page will be used only before the course starts. After we will use CANVAS, SLU's education online platform where you will find all course information and documents. You will receive an invitation to join the CANVAS page in your SLU email latest on Friday 15ht of January. So please check your email before the course start. If you do not have an SLU email account, please contact it-stod@slu.se and ask them to help you get access to the course Canvas page. You will get detailed information on how to use Canvas on the first day of the course.

Information meeting about online education in CDF course
Several students have asked if the course will be online and if it will be possible to travel back home and/or take the course from abroad. It is most likely that the course will be given online fully. But answering the question of taking the course from abroad is complicated. In part, due to issues with residence permits as well as the interactive design of the course. We will have a short zoom information meeting to talk about this and answer questions next Tuesday 24th of November from 16.00 - 17.00 (see zoom details below) The meeting will be useful even if you will be in Uppsala/Sweden during the course. Kunskaper motsvarande Engelska 6 från gymnasieskolan. Motsvarande 180 hp varav 90 hp i något ämne inom naturvetenskap, teknik, samhällsvetenskap eller humanoria.Mål
Syftet med kursen är att utveckla förståelse för demokrati och processledning i utformningen av konstruktiva grupprocesser och dialog för att hantera konflikter. Kursen behandlar både potentialen samt begränsningarna för samverkansmetoder och diskuterar betydelsen av konflikt i social förändring. Efter avslutad kurs ska studenten kunna:
- Diskutera teorier om sociala processer och faktorer som påverkar konstruktivitet och destruktivitet i konfliktprocesser, sociala relationer och samspel mellan individer, grupper och organisationer
- Diskutera teorier om demokrati, planering och makt, och beskriva hur de förhåller sig till teorier om konflikter, konflikthantering och processledning
- Föreslå konflikthanterings- och processledningsstrategier för att ingripa i en konfliktsituation
- Reflektera över sin egen roll i sociala processer och på hur de val hen kan göra kommer att påverka konfliktdynamiken
Innehåll
Pedagogiken i denna kurs är baserad på upplevelsebaserat (experiential) lärande . I början av kursen presenteras teorier om sociala processen i konflikter och faktorer som påverkar effektivitet, kunskapsanvändning , konstruktivitet och destruktivitet i grupprocesser och omsamspelet mellan individer, grupper och organisationer. Metoder för konflikthantering och processledning presenteras. I den andra delen av kursen genomför studenterna ett projekt i grupp . Projektet är har två syften: 1 ) Att undersöka en naturresursförvaltningssituation och dess potentiella sociala konflikter med hjälp av olika metoder 2 ) Att observera och reflektera över de sociala processerna inom den egna projektgruppen och mellan egna gruppen och andra sociala system, såsom andra studentgrupper , lärare och aktörer som deltar i undersökningen .
Projektarbetet resulterar i en rapport som beskriver den undersökta situationen samt i en processrapport som beskriver arbetssätt och sociala processer. I den individuella tentamen tillämpar studenterna formella teorier vid analys av fallstudier och egna erfarenheter

- Om studenten inte blivit godkänd på ett prov har examinatorn rätt att ge en kompletteringsuppgift – om det finns skäl för det och om det är möjligt.
- Om studenten har ett beslut från SLU om särskilt pedagogiskt stöd på grund av funktionsnedsättning, har examinatorn rätt att ge ett anpassat prov eller låta studenten genomföra provet på ett alternativt sätt.
- Om denna kursplan ändras, eller om kursen läggs ner, ska SLU besluta om övergångsregler för examination av studenter, som antagits enligt denna kursplan och ännu inte blivit godkända.
- För examination av självständigt arbete (examensarbete) gäller dessutom att examinatorn kan tillåta studenten att göra kompletteringar efter inlämningsdatum. Mer information finns i utbildningshandboken
