The student account

Registration for the course
Self-registration for the course is done in Ladok between 2021-08-16 and 2021-08-30. Remember that you must be admitted and registered to take the course.

If you have been admitted to the course with conditions, you need to send your credit list to the course leader who will review them and decide if you can register. Do this as soon as possible as reviewing credits may take a few days due to the course start.

Educational support

If you are entitled extra educational support, please inform the course leader at the start of the course so that special arrangements can be made. For educational support for an exam, contact the educational administrator at econ-edu@slu.se along with your certificate from Nais 15 workings days prior to the examination. More information here: https://student.slu.se/en/study-support/study-support/funka/.

Discontinuation of a course

If you want to discontinue the course, you should immediately notify the educational administrators at econ-edu@slu.se, who in turn will inform the course leader and register a non-completion of the course in Ladok after your approval. You are also able to register an early non-completion of the course (within three weeks after course start) in Ladok yourself.

Exams
You will automatically be registered for the first exam of the course in Ladok Student. You can find your anonymity code in Ladok Student. Please note that you still have to register yourself for the re-exam in Ladok Student. This applies only to exams and re-exams within the Department of Economics.

Corrected exams can usually be collected Wednesdays from 12.30 - 14.30 in room D416 or D417 in Ulls Hus. Due to Covid, it is best to contact econ-edu@slu.se to get help with collection of your exam.

180 högskolepoäng, varav minst 90 högskolepoäng i nationalekonomi. Kunskaper motsvarande Engelska 6.

Mål

Kursen syftar till att ge studenterna insikter i den samtida forskningen inom ämnet agrar ekonomi, när det gäller aktuella frågeställningar, tillämpningar och forskningsmetoder.

Efter avslutad kurs ska studenten kunna:

- Redogöra för aktuella forskningsteman inom ämnet agrar ekonomi.
- Diskutera hur aktuella forskningsteman bidrar till att lösa aktuella problem inom jordbrukssektorn.
- Tillämpa en aktuell forskningsmetod inom ämnet agrar ekonomi.

Innehåll

Kursen genomförs med hjälp av en obligatorisk seminariedel där den aktuella forskningen inom ämnet agrar ekonomi behandlas genom ett fokus på inom ämnet nypublicerad litteratur. Vidare genomförs kursen med hjälp av en metoddel där studenterna genom ett obligatoriskt projektarbete lär sig tillämpa en aktuell forskningsmetod inom ämnet agrar ekonomi.

Kursen innehåller en genomgång av aktuella forskningsteman och metoder inom ämnet agrar ekonomi. Studenterna får även träning i praktiskt tillämpning av en aktuell metod inom ämnet agrar ekonomi.

Examinationsformer och fordringar för godkänd kurs

Godkänd tentamen.
Godkänt projektarbete.
Deltagande i obligatoriska seminarier.
  • Om studenten inte blivit godkänd på ett prov har examinatorn rätt att ge en kompletteringsuppgift – om det finns skäl för det och om det är möjligt.
  • Om studenten har ett beslut från SLU om särskilt pedagogiskt stöd på grund av funktionsnedsättning, har examinatorn rätt att ge ett anpassat prov eller låta studenten genomföra provet på ett alternativt sätt.
  • Om denna kursplan ändras, eller om kursen läggs ner, ska SLU besluta om övergångsregler för examination av studenter som antagits enligt denna kursplan och ännu inte blivit godkända.
  • För examination av självständigt arbete (examensarbete) gäller dessutom att examinatorn kan tillåta studenten att göra kompletteringar efter inlämningsdatum. Mer information finns i utbildningens regelsamling.

To obtain grade “3”, the student should be able to:

  • Describe current research topics in the subject of agricultural economics;
  • Discuss how current research topics contribute to solving current problems in the agricultural sector;
  • Apply a current research methodology in the field of agricultural economics.

To obtain grade “4” the students should be able to demonstrate good knowledge and skills in relation to the requirements for grade “3”.

To obtain grade “5” the students should be able to demonstrate very good knowledge and skills in relation to the requirements for grade “3”.

The exams will be graded, using the following intervals: fail, Grade “3”: at least 60% of the total points at the exam; grade “4”: at least 75% of the total points at the exam; grade “5”: at least 90% of the total points at the exam.

The term papers will be graded, using the following intervals: fail, grade “3” pass, and grade “4” pass with distinction, using the learning outcomes of the course as a basis for the grading.

The final grade at the course is determined according to the following:

Grade “3”: Exam grade 3 and term paper grade 3, seminars: passed seminar assignments and active participation in mandatory seminars.

Grade “4”: Exam grade 4 and term paper grade 3, or exam grade 3 and term paper grade 4, or exam grade 5 and term paper grade 3, seminars: passed seminar assignments and active participation in mandatory seminars.

Grade “5”: Exam grade 5 and term paper grade 4, seminars: passed seminar assignments and active participation in mandatory seminars.

Grade “4” and “5” can only be obtained at the first exam and the first re-exam offered by SLU.
