Makerspace and 3D-printers in the libraries
There is a Makerspace with 3D printers in Alnarp, and a 3D printer in Uppsala. You need to take an introductory course to book and use the printers.
3D printers in Uppsala
In Uppsala there is a 3D printer of the brand Bambu studio and it is located in the group room A133, level 1 in Ulls hus.
During the summer, 30 June - 1 September, it is not possible to book an introduction or use the printer.
Sign up for an introductory session to learn how to use the 3D printer. After the introductory session, you can book the printer and use it on your own.
To book an introduction to 3D printing, email us at library@slu.se. The training takes about an hour and gives you the basics of how the printer and the Bambulab programme work.
As a student, you can book the printer with your student account in TimeEdit. You can book the printer on working days between 17:00 and 22:00 and between 6:00-22:00 on weekends.
If you are staff, please email lokalbokning@slu.se to book the printer.
Makerspace in Alnarp
The Makerspace is located on level 3 above the library. The room is available every day 6-23 and you use your access card to enter through the library.
3D printers
There is a 3D printer, Flashforge Adventure 3. You are welcome to use the printer once you have completed an introductory training programme with us. After the training, you can book the printer and print free of charge.
To book an introduction to 3D printers, email library@slu.se . The training takes about an hour and gives you the basics of how the printer and the Flashprint programme work.
Both students and staff can book the printer in TimeEdit. If you are a student, choose ”Makerspace – Alnarpsgården”, if you are staff, choose "Utrustningsbokning för personal".
Sewing machine
In the Makerspace there is a sewing machine (model Bernina 325) that you are welcome to use. To book the sewing machine, log in with your student account in TimeEdit.
Events in the Makerspace
The library occasionally organises events in the Makerspace, such as workshops for students in carving or sewing. On these occasions, the space is booked by the library and you, as a student at SLU, are welcome to attend the events. The equipment and study spaces may not be available at these times.
