Before an ambulatory veterinary visit, it is important that you as an animal owner have the right information available.
From 1 January 2025, horses are also covered by the new rules for medication reporting. This means that the veterinarian, when administering medication, must report the premises ID number for the location where the animal is kept.
What does this mean for you as an animal owner?
When the ambulatory veterinarians come to your stable or farm, you need to be able to provide the premises ID number for the facility. Without this, the veterinarian cannot administer medication that requires reporting.
A premises ID number is a unique number that identifies locations where animals are kept, and is registered in the Premises Register.
Find your premises ID number
More information about what a premises ID number is, how to register a premises, and how to find your number is available from Jordbruksverket (the Swedish Board of Agriculture).
We recommend that you ensure your premises ID number is registered and readily available before an ambulatory veterinary visit.
