Late returns

  • Loans from the SLU University Library collections, except for reference books, are automatically renewed as long as nobody else has requested the book or the maximum loan period has been reached. If the loan cannot be renewed, the library will send a notification by email shortly before the loan period expires.
  • When the loan period has expired, the library will send two overdue notifications requesting you to return the book.
  • After the third letter, sent by regular mail, you will be blocked from further loans. The block remains until you have returned the book or payed a replacement fee. The minimum fee is SEK 300.

Damaged or lost material

  • If you lose or damage the material, you will be liable to pay the cost of repurchasing the book. The value of books that can no longer be purchased is set at SEK 300.
  • Unpaid invoices are sent to debt collection.
  • After agreement with the library, you can provide a replacement copy yourself and thus avoid the fee.
  • If the book is part of a multi-volume work that cannot be replaced, you will be liable for the entire work.
