Open access agreements and discounts

SLU has agreements with publishers that mean that you as a researcher can publish your research article free of charge or at a reduced cost when you publish with open access.

The Open Access (OA) fee is funded by SLU for a large number of journals. Always check that the journal you intend to publish in is covered by the agreement. You can do this here:

Corresponding author

The corresponding author must indicate SLU as the main affiliation for the cost of open access to be covered or for discounts to apply. It is the author who submits the manuscript and is in contact with the publisher who counts as the corresponding author. The terms that publishers may use for this are, for example, ‘submitting’, ‘responsible’ or ‘primary author’.

Types of articles covered

The agreements usually cover the article types ‘original research’, ‘review articles’ and the like. Article types such as ‘editorial’, ‘comment’, ‘short communication’ and similar are not covered.

Please note that there may also be other charges not covered by the agreement, such as page charges or handling fees.
