The course is an introduction to animal personality and methods in animal personality research. The course will begin from the definition of animal personality and the methods applied in personality research. The course will also cover the inheritance of animal personality and connection of animal personality with metabolism and other biological factors. Eventually, evolutionary effects of animal personality and the connection of personality to animal welfare will be studied. The course is suitable for doctoral candidates with basic understanding of population genetics and evolution biology. The course consists of lectures and short student presentations covering topics in animal personality research.
