Objectives
The aim of the course is to give an understanding for entrepreneurship and management within the green sector, with a special focus on firms working with construction of outdoor environment and landscape. The course provides the students with knowledge for basic business administration, management and corporate governance.
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- establish and assess a business plan based on a business idea, a market-oriented approach and business models
- describe, explain and apply different tools within financial control; product calculation, investment calculation, financial accounting, liquidity budget and economic key figures.
- give an account of and apply basic theories of leadership and organizational theory, with a focus on groups way of functioning.
- know and explain basic business law concepts and rules with emphasis on agreements.
- know and be able to explain central concepts within marketing and be able to apply basic marketing tools and market research tools in order to understand and explore end users´ needs, wants and demand.
Content
The course focuses on the preparation of business plan, basic business administration and marketing with application in the landscape company: marketing and strategies for sustainable business, external analysis, organization and leadership, financial management, liquidity planning, cost and revenue analysis, external accounting, closing and taxation, product calculation and pricing in service business, investment calculation and financing and contract rules.

Examination Formats and Requirements for Passing the Course
To pass the course, passed written and oral assignments as well as participation in the compulsory activities are required.
