Market oriented wood supply
Course description
Our course delves deeper into forest technology, wood science, and business economics. Combining these subjects with a system perspective, we explore how to plan and control the forest industrial raw materials supply efficiently.
To begin, we provide an overview of the supply processes specific to the forest industry. From there, our lectures cover procurement of wood, principles of bucking, procurement of forestry contracting services, transport management, flow optimization, and timber quality-related issues, all from a market-oriented perspective on wood supply. Students will engage in compulsory exercises and seminars throughout the course to enhance their learning experience.
