Participants need to be registered as PhD students at SLU.
Objectives
After finalizing the course the students shall be able to
• Analyze their research work with a focus on sustainable development
• Apply systems thinking to their research work
• Present and communicate the contribution of their research work to sustainable development
• Receive and apply feedback to improve their presentation skills on a popular science level
Content
The purpose of the course is to prepare PhD students for teaching and as mediators of research results. The PhD student will prepare and train communication of research goals and results on popular science level. Preparation will require assess the potential and systems effects of the research for sustainable production in e.g. agriculture, horticulture or forestry.
The course is set up as a campus course. The course contains lectures and discussions as well as presentation and feedback tasks.

• Participation in the presentation day event
• Giving an oral presentation in the presentation day event
• Participation in the feedback session
• Approval of the participant´s presentation with regards to evidence that the student…
a) thought about and made an effort to speak to the target audience<br>

c) addressed the topic of sustainability<br>
