Ingrid Hansson, professor of veterinary bacteriology

Page reviewed:  10/06/2025

Ingrid Hansson is professor of veterinary bacteriology since 1 January 2024. Her inauguration lecture has the title "Bakterier, på gott och ont".

Ingrid Hansson's research is about bacteria that cause disease in animals, and sometimes also in humans. She has worked extensively with Campylobacter in chickens. With in-depth knowledge of the bacteria's properties, optimal growth factors, routes of infection and risk factors, she tries to develop strategies to prevent the growth and spread of the bacteria, for the benefit of host animals, animal owners and in some cases food consumers.
