Page reviewed:  14/06/2025

Jonatan Klaminder is a professor of soil science since 1 February 2024. His inauguration lecture has the title "Vänta, sa du att daggmaskar kan vara ett miljöproblem?"

Jonatan Klaminder explores the interactions between soil organisms, minerals, climate and topography – and how these interactions affect our ecosystem services and change over time. His research spans a wide range of topics; from studies of how earthworms and ants affect ecosystems, to chemical and biological changes occurring in forest ecosystems over thousands of years. Jonatan Klaminder makes great use of modern technology, including acoustic monitoring of soil processes, isotopes and environmental DNA.
