The health of invited speakers and guests is of the utmost importance to the organisers of the Nobel Prize Summit. As such we are continuously monitoring the global situation as it relates to coronavirus (COVID-19).

Scientists have long sounded the alarm that climate change is real and getting worse. The imminent threat posed by climate change is coinciding with shifts in continuing economic inequality and a constant stream of new technologies that are transforming the way we live and work – with both positive and negative consequences. The challenges are daunting. But it is not too late to chart a different course for our planet and its inhabitants.

The summit will put the world’s best minds to work on finding solutions that will not only help mitigate and adapt to climate change, but also reduce inequality, lift people out of poverty, and identify ways to harness the best that technology has to offer while anticipating and mitigating potential harms.

The Nobel Prize Summit is hosted by the Nobel Foundation and organised by the National Academy of Sciences in partnership with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and the Stockholm Resilience Centre/Beijer Institute.
