Blaz Klobucar

I work in research related to trees in urban environment, ecosystem services, management and governance. Mitigation of climate change, urbanization and densification starts with utilizing the resources we already have at our disposal using smarter management and accurate data.

I’m a PhD student, with a background in forestry science, my current research focus is lies within urban forestry and green infrastructure. I work at the department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management, at the cross-section of natural and social science fields combining various scientific methods for studying relationships between trees and people. The object of my study is a resource of ecosystem services we know very little about: non-public trees. My aim is to create a communication platform to promote better tree stewardship by private tree owners, by structure, incentive and behavior pattern analysis.
