Fabian Bötzl
I am interested in fostering beneficial natural ecosystem services and conserving biodiversity in agricultural landscapes in order to increase the sustainability of agricultural production in the light of global change. In my work, I focus especially on natural pest control, its drivers and management.

Presentation

I am currently working with Ola Lundin on various projects related to biodiversity management and natural pest control in agricultural landscapes.

Together with Riccardo Bommarco, Alexander Menegat, Göran Bergkvist, Ola Lundin and Giulia Vicco I am working in the FORMAS project 'multifunc' where we investigate the relation between agroecosystem multifunctionality and the legacy effects of crop diversity.

I am interested in biodiversity conservation and management in agricultural landscapes on local and landscape scales. In my work, I focus especially on natural pest control and its drivers. My previous work in Ingolf Steffan-Dewenter's lab in Würzburg (Germany) centred around spillover of natural enemies and within field distance functions of natural pest control across the ecotones between semi-natural habitats and crop fields.

Apart from my ecological work, I work on the taxonomy and distribution of tiger beetles (Cicindelidae).
