PhD student with a focus on mixed-species forest plantations as a sustainable means of climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Presentation
My project aims to further the mechanistic understanding of tree species interactions and their consequences for tree growth, resilience to biotic stressors and above- and belowground carbon sequestration. This, to investigate the efficacy of mixed-species forestry as a viable management alternative in the face of climatic, biotic and social volatility. Using high-resolution data from a global network of tree diversity experiments allows for the assesement of general trends as well as the context dependency of effects.
Cooperation
PhD representative for SLU´s environmental monitoring and assesment (EMA/FOMAN) at the NJ faculty and board member of the National Commission of Fast-Growing Trees in Sweden.
