Presentation

Researcher, Senior environmental assessment specialist
Assistant and deputy head of Department of Soil and environment

Research

My research is related to the estimation of carbon budgets and greenhouse gas balances for different land use categories at different scales. I also perform research on the future use of forest resources and the role of forestry in future climate policy frameworks.

Environmental analysis

I coordinate the estimation of emissions and removals from the LULUCF-sector for the annual reporting to UNFCCC and EU on behalf of the Swedish EPA. The LULUCF-reporting for Sweden is mainly based on the National forest inventory and the Swedish inventory of forest soils.

Cooperation

Since 2010 I have regularly cooperated with and taken on assignments for the Swedish EPA, the government office and other national and international agencies of the environment related to the annual reporting of greenhouse gas emissions/removals to the Climate convention and the European union for the land use sector.

Selected assignments
Responsible to develop the Forest reference level for Sweden to be submitted to the EU in December 2018.

Member of the ICOS Sweden Steering Committee 2018-2020.

Participated as lead author in the 2019 Refinement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (2019 Refinement)

Participated as contributing author to the 2013 Revised Supplementary Methods and Good Practice Guidance Arising from the Kyoto Protocol (KP Supplement)

Regularly (since 2011) invited by the UNFCCC secretariat to participate in reviews of annual GHG-inventories and technical assessments (TA) of REDD+ reference levels organized by the UNFCCC secretariat.

Responsible for the annual GHG reporting of the LULUCF sector to the UNFCCC (including the Kyoto protocol) and to the European Commission and reporting of projections for LULUCF to the UNFCCC (National communications) and to the European Commission (since 2008).

Participation in the Swedish negotiating team at negotiation meetings under the Climate Convention (SBSTA and COP / CMP) with respect to reporting issues and accounting issues for LULUCF 2007-2016.
