Murilo Araujo Sandroni
Early Stage Researcher (ESR) in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network PROTECTA (Pathogen Informed Resistance to Oomycete diseases in Ecosystems, Agriculture and Aquaculture).

I am an Agricultural Engineer with a focus on plant pathology and plant-pathogen interactions. I'm studying alternative methods of resistance to Phytophthora infestans in potato by investigating the effects of Plant Resistance Inducers (PRIs) as low-risk alternatives to synthetic pesticides. I have also an interest in the mitigation of climate change and in studying how plant resistance and pathogen aggressiveness will be altered under future climate scenarios.

I am currently involved in the following projects:

MSCA-ITN Protecta “Pathogen Informed Resistance to Oomycete Diseases in Ecosystems, Agriculture and Aquaculture”, 2019-2021

EPPN2020 PRIFACE "Influence of elevated CO2 on potato plants, late blight resistance, and effectiveness of plant resistance inducers", 2021

M.Sc. in Plant Health in Sustainable Cropping Systems from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the Georg-August-University of Göttingen (UGOE).

M.Sc. in Agricultural Production from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).

Agricultural Engineer from the University of São Paulo (USP).
