Presentation
I am associate professor at the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment and head of the Section for Ecology and Biodiversity.
Most often the organism in focus in my research is phytoplankton and their role in aquatic food webs. I would like to develop methods for phytoplankton identification with DNA methods and adapt for use in large scale monitoring. I work closely to the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and develop assessment methods for water management. Most recently, this has been done in the project WATERS where the next generation of assessment methods have been developed.
I am coordinator for SLU:s Environmental monitoring and assessment programme Lakes and watercourses with the aim to coordinate the work to spread the knowledge about environmental monitoring of lakes and streams to the society, to increase the use of public monitoring data available from SLU in research, and to teach SLU students how to use this source of data.
Teaching
Two courses in Swedish:
- Energi och miljö (Energy and the Environment)
- Energisystemens miljöpåverkan (Environmental Impacts of Energy Systems), for civil engineer students
